Following a widely praised debut by Innerspace Halflife, Latency’s second release comes from New York’s Joey Anderson—an artist admired by peers like DJ Qu and Levon Vincent, yet remarkably unconcerned with hype. Instead, Anderson follows his own creative rhythm, releasing music only when it feels right.
From One Mind To The Other continues Latency’s deep commitment to introspective, analog-rooted sound. Like the label’s first release, Anderson’s EP is hypnotic and immersive, defined by restraint, space, and atmosphere.
On “Press Play,” fractured male vocals drift above stark kicks. There’s no bassline—just a suspended, weightless framework filled with fluttering synths and cascading keys, simultaneously tough and haunting. “Mind Set” dials the intensity down further, layering the phrase “mindset, mindset, it’s definitely a mindset” over softly glowing pads and gentle percussion. The mood is meditative, insistent yet calm. “Attitude” closes the EP with heavy kicks and militant snares, softened by distant synth swells and a thick atmospheric haze.
Each track unfolds patiently, emphasisHaing mood over momentum, reflection over repetition. From One Mind To The Other stands as a quiet, confident statement—not only from Anderson, but from Latency as a label committed to sonic depth and artistic autonomy.
